Complete Chiller Solutions (CCS) is seeking an experienced Cooling Tower Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of cooling tower systems. The successful candidate will work diligently to ensure that cooling towers are operating at optimal performance for maximum energy efficiency.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance and repair issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to assemble and install cooling tower systems.
  • Erect and install tower sections, securing structure supports, including fan assembly, basin, fill, and drift eliminators.
  • Retrofit fan motors, shafts, bearings, and all mechanical equipment.
  • Frequently inspect all cooling tower components for damage, corrosion, or deterioration. 
  • Maintain proper alignment and a continuous water level in the cooling tower structure.
  • Prevent collection of debris, scale and biological growth by cleaning tower fill, basin, and distribution system.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and specifications for equipment.
  • Reduce wear and tear by lubricating moving parts.
  • Identify leaks and seal the piping system or tower structure.
  • Fabricate or weld parts requiring replacement.
  • Use design requirements when connecting pipes, valves, and all other electrical components.
  • Calibrate and test control systems, temperature sensors, and float switches.
  • Troubleshoot cooling tower issues involving electrical, plumbing, and mechanical operation.
  • Ensure correctness of fan speed and blade pitch, adjusting when necessary.
  • Repair damaged components, such as spray headers, nozzles, distribution piping, and louvers.
  • Recommend upgrades and retrofit outdated equipment affecting performance and energy efficiency.
  • Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with clients, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Adhere to health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.


Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years plus experience in the service, repair, and maintenance of cooling tower systems.
  • A valid “full G” Ontario driver’s license and a clean driving record is required.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprint and engineering specifications or designs.
  • Customer-focused approach when delivering superior levels of service.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team.
